Purpose
This program aims to provide young people and other disadvantaged job seekers with opportunities to gain a nationally recognised qualification and paid work experience through subsidised apprenticeships and traineeships in the public and community sectors.
Funding is available as follows:
- Up to $10,000 for Local Government Authorities
- Up to $10,000 for Aboriginal and Island Councils
- Up to $19,000 for Not-for-profit community organisations
General Eligibility
Local Government Authorities, Aboriginal and Island Councils, and not-for-profit community organisations are eligible to apply. The latter must be community based, rather than industry based and must not operate in a commercially competitive environment.
Closing Date
This program is open on an ongoing basis.
Assistance Provided
Expected outcome from activities are:

To provide assistance to individuals to achieve employment and/or training outcomes.

Full or part time employment on a permanent, temporary, casual or self employment basis.

A further education or training outcome including tertiary courses; accredited vocational education and training courses, language, literacy and numeracy courses and return to full-time school education.
