Occasionally ATDW distributors contact operators with offers of premium advertising space on their websites, reservation services or other online marketing opportunities. All ATDW distributors must follow the ATDW Distributor Communications Guidelines. These guidelines aim to protect the interests of tourism operators, especially from other irrelevant or poor quality unsolicited offers.
Operators are listed free of charge on a distributor’s website or digital channel as a condition of the ATDW License Agreement.
If you do not wish to receive further offers or updates from a distributor, you can ‘unsubscribe’ from its email service. Any offers you receive to upgrade or change your listing should be considered on its merits, just like any offer to advertise in the media.
You can measure the return on investment of your ATDW subscription and track how your listing is performing through your business' monthly ATDW Website Performance Reports. These reports can be accessed through your myATDW account.
The ATDW Website Performance Reports highlight:
myATDW is a user friendly, time saving, online tool that allows you to review, update or add your own listing in the ATDW. At renewal time you will also be able to pay online to renew your listing via credit card or BPAY (please note, events are free to list).
You can log in to your myATDW account and access your ATDW listing at any time throughout the year to ensure your listing displays the most current and accurate information. A new listing and any changes will go through a quality assurance process to ensure all content quality standards are met before the listing is released live.
Tourism businesses must provide a direct service or experience to the leisure tourist and operate within one of the following categories:
There is no limit to the number of listings you can have with the ATDW. However, each listing must only contain one business. If you operate multiple businesses (i.e. a tour service and an accommodation property) you must create two separate listings for each business. Each listing will be a separate subscription fee, with the exception of Events which are always free to list. You can manage all of your listings within the one myATDW account. To create listings in a new category please contact the ATDW team via email on email@example.com to allow this access.
The ATDW subscription year runs from 1 July to 30 June the following year. The annual subscription fee for 2012/2013 is $200. A $50 discount applies if you're a member of an RTO, Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC) or QTIC Association Council, local tourism organisation (LTO) that is affiliated with an RTO, Ecotourism Australia, or TQUAL accreditation.
To view the full list of affiliated organisations click here.
There is always no cost to list an event in the ATDW.
You can pay for your listing securely online by credit card or BPay through your myATDW account. If you are a new member, you will be prompted for payment once you have created and submitted your listing.
If you are an existing member wishing to renew your listing, log in to your myATDW account and select “Renew your Listing”. Once you have submitted your updates, you will then be prompted for payment and a Tax invoice will appear on screen where you can select your desired method of payment. A copy of the Tax Invoice will also be emailed to you.
New listings and changes to existing listings will take approximately 1-5 business days to be published on the ATDW distributor websites. Once your new listing or update has been submitted, it will be checked by our Quality Assurance team and you will be notified by email when it has been approved and will be published live.
If you have recently updated your listing and your changes are not appearing on the distributor websites please ensure you have submitted your updates for approval. You can check this by logging back in to your myATDW account. Any updated information that has not been approved will be appearing in yellow. Please ensure you have clicked the 'Submit' button in the top right corner of the Brochure View. Your updates must be submitted and approved by our Quality Assurance team before the distributor websites can be updated.
Alternatively, you may have received an email from our Quality Assurance team notifying you that your new listing/updates were rejected. This email will state the reason for the rejection and will advise you as to any additional information or changes needed in order for your listing to be approved.
All listings can be found using the Quick Search field at the top right corner of every page by searching the business name or keywords.
It is mandatory to supply at least 1 image without any text or logos for each listing. You can upload a minimum of 4 images and 1 logo to your ATDW listing.
Accommodation, Tour and Hire listings can also include 4 additional images for each room/tour/hire product type offered.
Please note: queenslandholidays.com.au displays only the first 4 landscape images supplied - other distributors will differ in the number of images displayed.
If you have recently created or updated your ATDW listing and it is still being checked by our Quality Assurance team your information may not have been approved yet. You will be notified by email once your new listing or any updates have been approved and published live.
If the website is not on the list of ATDW distributors it means that the information has been sourced from a third party and not from the ATDW. You will need to contact the website directly to update the incorrect information.
The TXA is ATDW's inclusive booking platform. The TXA will transform your existing ATDW listing into a bookable product, thus allowing you to sell your product on a vast number of tourism websites simultaneously.
Writing copy to use in the online environment differs from that of traditional print mediums. The PDF below will provide you with tips on writing descriptions for website listings, including example product descriptions.
Tourism and Events Queensland's consumer website, queenslandholidays.com.au, displays your map location based on your Australia Post registered suburb and post code. This is automatically generated for you when you enter your address into your listing and click on the “Place Address on Map” button.
If your map location is incorrect, log in to your myATDW account and manually move the dropped map pin to the correct location on the map. Alternatively, if you know the geo-coordinates (longitude and latitude, in decimal format) for your business, you can enter these directly into the space provided.
